FAQ

What is your coverage area?

I cover most of SW Ontario. I am based out of Kitchener, but will travel as far as Toronto, Hamilton or London. Basically about a 200 km radius around KW. I can also be commissioned for further locations which would require additional charge.

What equipment do you use?

I use professional Nikon Digital SLR cameras including backup camera, lenses and flashes in case of an emergency. My lenses were carefully selected to allow for a shallow depth of field which isolates and features each couple amid the environment around them. This results are dreamy bokeh (blurry) backgrounds. These lenses give me great flexibility in various shooting conditions.

What if you can’t make it?

I have never missed a wedding! In case of illness or other circumstance, I have a number of professional photographers that I am associated with which would fill in.

How long before I get my pictures?

Depending on time of the year, I deliver images anywhere between 2 to 8 weeks after the shoot. You will likely find these turnaround times to be faster than many other photographers.

Fall is generally very busy time. I will let you know at the time of the shoot when you can expect the images to be delivered.

Will Alex be the actual photographer at our wedding?

Absolutely! Nothing less would be adequate!

What kind of deposit is required and when is the remainder due?

Retainer deposit is due at signing of wedding contract. At this time deposit is $800.00 in cash, cheque or e-transfer. Remainder is due before the wedding or on the wedding day.

How many photos do we get?

On average, I take about 100 images per hour. I come home with at least 2000 images from the entire day. I delete the duplicates and obviously bad images and keep the rest which is about 800-1000.

How many locations can we have?

UNLIMITED! It does not matter to me. The only constraint we have is time.

When does coverage start and finish?

My packages are all day coverage! A typical Wedding Day starts in the morning and ends well into the evening! Specific time varies and it will be discussed in detail but typically 12-14 hours.

What does edited high resolution files mean?

All images are processed using Adobe Lightroom on a monitor that is calibrated monthly. I shoot in RAW format which allows camera to capture as much information about the picture as possible. It also allows me to edit images in more natural way without losing image quality. I colour correct all images and ensure they look great. Images are exported into JPG files at highest possible resolution and size. For convenience, I also include all images in a reduced size so that you can view them easily on your computer and share them on social media.

Why should we have an engagement shoot?

To get to know each other, to learn to communicate and celebrate your engagement! I absolutely insist on having the engagement session!!! These pictures compliment the entire package very nicely plus they are FREE.

How do we design the Photo Book?

Once I give you the images from the shoot, we will discuss your style that you prefer (ie. modern, traditional, etc.). We will review book samples and based on your input I will design the book and show you spreads electronically. You will have the opportunity to review them and make the appropriate changes. The book will not be issued for printing without your approval of the layout. The printing process takes about 2 weeks.

Why should I print my images with you?

Good question. There are a lot of print labs and many offer inexpensive prints. Quality is number one priority for me. The professional lab I use has numerous daily quality checks that ensures excellent colour consistency and image replication. I prefer a thick archival paper which means that the print will not change colour over time.
